Tow truck drivers arrested with forged driving licences
19 February 2012
Three tow truck drivers have appeared in the Brakpan Magistrate's Court in connection with forged driving licences. (They obviosuly feel that our roads are safe enough to not earn a valid drivers licence... or maybe they think they can make extra business for their colleagues if they have an accident?)
They were released pending the completion of an investigation into tow-truck drivers, community safety spokesman Thapelo Moiloa said. (Now what about an investigation into the licence testing centres around the country?)
The men were arrested in an operation on the East Rand on February 15.
Moiloa said: "Various defects were noted on their licences. The receipt number and licence numbers did not correspond and date of issue was October 1, 2021."
More arrests were imminent as the arrest of the three provided links to a bigger scam in Gauteng.
"Police are looking for three men." - (Only???)
Towing companies have given their full support and were willing to screen their drivers, Moiloa added.
