There we have it, out of the horses mouth. I agree with zoopedup, if the club belonged to anyone of us, we would have felt the same. And it is not bias at all, it is the right prinsiple to follow! So lets take it from here.

Furthermore, those that leave dramatic "good bye" messages - in the 10 years that I have managed this site many members have come and gone. Most due to 'personal reasons' of what happened on the site or through private message exchanges with members. We cant control this and members will always be coming and going. At the point the Zoopedup site has consistently grown by 20% each year and we now rank as the 98th biggest website in SA.

Its obvious - dont we reserve the right to communicate to our members? Zoopedup has the leading car club website in South Africa - no questions - we have a user generated community were the members can upload content and speak their mind. This does not mean other car clubs can abuse our social network system to their own benefit. Its a matter of ethics. Little do most of you know that rival car clubs use the Zoopedup site to post their events and approach our members via private messages to their inbox encouraging them to join their car club. Have any of you complainers taken this into consideration?

Hi all, off course anyone is allowed to advertise a neutral event. Making our blog area informative with the latest news and events from the aftermarket scene is crucial. What I won't allow is other car clubs advertising their events on Zoopedup unless its a formal invitation to the Zoopedup members to join - if this is the case they car club committee can email me and send us the info regarding the event so we can talk to our members.

Hello, Hello everybody. I totally agree with you guys. SupaFly, KLZE, Miz, Disturbed..... I always advertise the events of other clubs and everything else I can get hold of. But it is to give us as a team the oppertunity to represent. If you are from a different club invite us, send the comittee member in that area a mail so we can organise. It's just fair that way.....

Hey guys, the thing is like this, if you or we as a Zoopedup member post ablog with regards to an event, were we would like everyone to get together as a team then thats all good and welcomed, the issue we have had in the past, is not advertising other clubs events, but having possers come onto our team site and start advertising their club events. That is were the issues come in to place. so guys feel free to post events were we can all get together.

Cool thanx guys, this is more clear now. So to be safe, always send a request to the comitee first. So, lets get it rolling dudes, and i hope the comitee has lots of bandwith, cause by the looks of things, your gona be bussy!

@ flipper i am going to charls place on Wednesday or Thursday to talk to him about lots of shit so we will make some sort of draft of the rules of do's and dont. but like u say if u pick up a copy of SnS and see a event there that has not been blogged on this site you can either speak to one of the committee members of that area and if they dont response it should be ok to make a blog asking who is attending.

Thats correct 2fast thank you. In this way we have more control of what events are happening where, and we can blog and do the marketing with the tools we have on hand which range between 15-18000 people nationally. We will setup convoys etc as well...things just need to be in place thats all. We not saying we will never attend another clubs show, just things need to go through the right channels now.

@Flipper...think it's sorted mate...we have and will continue to extend invitations to all via the Chairman / Presidents / Directors clubs, organisations and or companies. It is up to the chair / pres / dir to decide whether they want to attend as a club and then publish the invite...at least this is the way I understand it..
